European shares are on track to earn their sixth weekly gain on Friday. The increase followed by Wall Street rise in line with White House officials' positive views on US-China trade negotiations, which helped bolster trade-sensitive stocks such as miners, technology and automakers.
The STOXX 600 rose 0.4%.
White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow on Thursday cited optimism about a deal to end the 16-month trade war.
Miners were the top gainers which earn 1.5%.
Chipmakers Infineon's shares, electronics maker STMicroelectronics and ASML rose between 0.8% to 1%.
Telecom shares rose 2.5%.
